Why is it so easy for you to understand the turmoil which would lead to young people rioting, but not to other young people opposing it? Did you know Rittenhouse lived so close by or that he had so much family in the area?

The relevance is an issue of framing.

Knowing the victims history of violence colors their reasons for being there and what was actually going on that night.

The story was of people rioting for a good cause and a racist bigot unable to sympathize took his gun to stop them.

11 counts including anal rape. Though I tend to think of it as violence regardless. The other victim also has a violent criminal history.

Perhaps social justice is just one of their many hobbies.

Regardless, it is reasonable to factor their violent past into what happened that night, why they were there, and why they rather than others ended up in a violent confrontation.
