I don't know about a youtube vid for the homemade AP mines; I have dozens of 'blueprints' and books on stuff like that - I collected it to do research for a video game I was working on at the time.

Anyway, I'm thinking 4 #00 shells inside 4" long steel tubes welded to a plate, the tubes capped with a light soft plastic to stop water seeping in, and a piezo-electric switch (like from a barbeque) in the center as a trigger for the four shells. Should work. :dunno:

Stolen from the internet.
Ring ring.

911. 911, what is the nature of your emergency?

Me. Ya, I'm driving down main street and this red Corvette just passed me.

911. OK, did you get a license number?

Me. Yes, it's right in front of me.

911. Ahh, how fast are you going?

Me. The speed limit.

911. How fast is the other car going?

Me. The speed limit.

911. OK, ahh. what do you want us to do?

Me. Pull him over. We're coming up to a school zone.

911. But he's not breaking any laws.

Me. I don't care, pull him over, I bet he's going to go speed. Why else have a car like that in public.

911. Sir, he's not breaking any laws.

Me. Ya, but he might.

911. We can't just stop and question someone for doing a legal activity.

Me. Ya you can. You do it with guns all the time.

Well yes, if you think your society is horrifying, clearly the answer is to increase the number of tools designed to kill people...

Lobotomies all around!

No?

At least a little trepanning.

Look, if we let every bloke and broad walk about with something as deadly as a functional brain in their heads we'd have to be mad. Now the laws of averages clearly puts the majority in the right and we've got to have just a little trepanning.

There's a bright fellow.

Well, a quote from 1892 clinches it. Every home should have a gun. And probably a penny farthing and some rickets.
"I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled"

AND MERRY XMAS TO ONE AND All!

I rather like being with most of the sane world, in a cluster very close to the origin of that graph...

But of course, if the US wants to compare itself with banana republics, failed states and countries in the grip of civil war, go right ahead...

"Ma'am, you called to report a man with a gun? Can you point him out to us please?"

"He's right there standing across the street in plain sight, can't you see him?!?"

"Ma'am, that is a uniformed police officer on a traffic stop."

"I know it is, but HE HAS A GUN!"

Ida B Wells
A daughter of slaves, Ida B. Wells was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi, on July 16, 1862. A journalist, Wells led an anti-lynching crusade in the United States in the 1890s, and went on to found and become integral in groups striving for African-American justice. She died in 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.
...
In 1892, three African-American men—Tom Moss, Calvin McDowell and Will Stewart—set up a grocery store in Memphis. Their new business drew customers away from a white-owned store in the neighborhood, and the white store owner and his supporters clashed with the three men on a few occasions. One night, Moss and the others guarded their store against attack and ended up shooting several of the white vandals. They were arrested and brought to jail, but they didn't have a chance to defend themselves against the charges—a lynch mob took them from their cells and murdered them

Ida B Wells
In 1892 three of her friends were lynched. Thomas Moss, Calvin McDowell, and Henry Stewart. These three men were owners of People's Grocery Company, and their small grocery had taken away customers from competing white businesses. A group of angry white men thought they would "eliminate" the competition so they attacked People's grocery, but the owners fought back, shooting one of the attackers. The owners of People's Grocery were arrested, but a lynch-mob broke into the jail, dragged them away from town, and brutally murdered all three. Again, this atrocity galvanized her mettle. She wrote in The Free Speech

The city of Memphis has demonstrated that neither character nor standing avails the Negro if he dares to protect himself against the white man or become his rival. There is nothing we can do about the lynching now, as we are out-numbered and without arms. The white mob could help itself to ammunition without pay, but the order is rigidly enforced against the selling of guns to Negroes. There is therefore only one thing left to do; save our money and leave a town which will neither protect our lives and property, nor give us a fair trial in the courts, but takes us out and murders us in cold blood when accused by white persons.
...
Ida B. Wells was one of the founding members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
Meh what does she know, that was a long time ago. Her concerns don't apply anymore, we are civilized now.

BTW, Ida Wells preceeded Rosa Parks in taking a stand against Jim Crow segregation.

Australian police find 328 guns, 4.2 tons of ammo at farm
A father and his two sons have been arrested in Australia after police found a $3 million arsenal of more than 300 guns and 4.2 tons of ammunition at their farm, police said Thursday.
...
Among the 328 weapons were military-style automatic rifles, some of which were worth up to $50,000 each, and Glock handguns worth $10,000, police said.

“This is certainly one of the largest hauls of firearms, ammunition and weapons we have uncovered,” said Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker of the Queensland Police. “These firearms are very disturbing.”

Fifty grand for an $800 rifle. Anyone who doesn't understand the free market law of supply and demand need look no further than this.

And I'm betting this is hardly the only cache in Australia.
