My wife and I recently had a couple of Americans stay with us for a few days. They were from Oregon, and the woman was very astute.

We discussed, among other things, the gun totin' American survivalist idiot. She had her own name for them. She called them redneck hillbillies, which was new to me. The way she used the term 'hillbilly' was totally insulting, and carried the implication of complete idiocy.

Not, of course, that I would accuse anyone on this forum of being an idiotic redneck hillbilly. Not me!

I'm happy to tolerate such programs, I just object to being forced under threat of violence to pay for it against my will, which is not a peaceable act and therefore need not be tolerated.

Actually I tolerate everything except acts that are not peaceable and respectful of the rights of others, which is what my religion requires.

Being from Oregon, which is heavily infested with liberals, progressives, Marxists and bunny-huggers, she's most certainly just a fuckwitted idiot who has consumed too much of the liberal Kool-aid.

You see, Oregon is a liberal socialist Marxist fuckwit paradise where you can't even pump your own gas at the gas station. Yes, that's right, fuckwit Oregonians have made it illegal for you to stick a gas pump nozzle in your own tank and pull the handle. The gas station owner has to hire meth-heads and drunkards to man the pumps because the socialist fucks in the legislature have decided to use gas stations as a welfare program for local degenerates and addicts. So gas prices are higher in Oregon of course because of the overhead of hiring some vacant-stared indigent at minimum wage to do something that literally everybody else on the planet knows how to do for themselves. Worse, the lazy fuckers will neither wash your windshield nor check your tires or oil (not that I'd let one of them anywhere near my car), all they do is stick the nozzle in and pull the handle and take your money. That's it.

So what some liberal fuckwit from Oregon has to say about "hillbillies" is of no real interest or importance to anyone.

Some of my best friends are redneck hillbillies. Fuck, I'M a redneck hillbilly, for part of the year anyway. The rest of the time I'm a saltwater redneck, though since Mrs. Lak has insisted on spraying me with sunscreen I'm less red then I used to be. I'm apparently also a "cracker", which is supposed to be insulting. It isn't. One must have at least a modicum of respect for another person in order to be insulted by them, what some home-spun wearing vegan from Oregon thinks of me is of no import. They're welcome to Portlandia, what they do up there isn't any of my business, just like what we do down here isn't any of theirs. Shame we don't have border controls at the Mason-Dixon.

Interesting how my description of my American visitor attracted a focus on Oregon. Her state of origin is the least important thing about her. Much more important was the fact that she was well read, well educated, very intelligent, and knew what she was talking about.

Those who focus on irrelevancies like which state someone comes from are usually people who do not know what they are talking about.

The fact that she's from Oregon is as least as relevant as the fact that Hillbillies are from the Ozarks and the Appalachians, don't you think? Or is it all in a day's work to single out Southerners for abuse? If I start tossing words like "nigger", "spic", or "kike" about, and more to the point ascribed less than complementary qualities to them, I'd get called out. You know, like "shiftless lazy nigger" or "cheating kike" or "welfare sucking illegal spics". Ah, that would be wrong, wouldn't it? I mean, I'd be tarring a whole group of people with the same illogical and unfounded brush based on the color of their skin, where they're from or their religious/ethnic background, and we all know that's bigotry and bigotry is bad.
