It's funny how anyone who doesn't agree with you is a "fanatic."

Apparently since there is no room in your world for dissent, perhaps it is you who is the "fanatic," hmm?

Religious? "Church of the Gun?" Where do you come up with this shit? Are you so ignorant and intolerant of a culture different from yours, this is the kind of nonsense thinking you stoop to?

And another data point...one which also supports the theory that some people are just too stupid to live, though this one got lucky.

This Is What Happens When a Criminal Tries to Rob a Gun Store…With a Bat

Common sense is apparently hard for some criminals. Take for example, 22-year-old Derrick Mosley, who reportedly attempted to rob an Oregon gun shop on Thursday armed with a baseball bat.

According to various news reports, Mosley strolled into Discount Gun Sales in Beaverton, Ore., with his baseball bat and criminal intent. He reportedly smashed a display case and attempted to steal a firearm.
Criminal Derrick Mosley Tries to Rob Gun Shop With a Baseball Bat

(KATU)

The manager of the gun shop drew his own firearm which, unlike the one Mosley attempted to steal, was loaded. The manager trained his gun on Mosley and ordered him to drop the bat, the unloaded gun he was trying to steal and the 9-inch knife he was carrying. The first smart thing the crook did that day was comply with those commands.

The gun shop manager was still holding Mosley at gunpoint when the sheriff’s department arrived. The would-be robber was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree criminal mischief. His bail was set at $250,000, KATU reports.

Additionally, Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell also found Mosley guilty of “the mental crime of thinking a bat would be an effective tool for robbing a store full of guys with guns.”

Mandatory 5 years for possession of a handgun a higher sentences than many rape cases in the UK. If people want to campaign for legalising handguns or rape then that's their right but not interested in any compromise whatsoever in people who actually break the law

What the fuck does that have anything to do with what I said?

That's pretty fucked up and ass-backwards country you got there, when possession of a pistol, which hurts no one, is considered worse of a crime than fucking RAPE which has a seriously traumatized victim.

That's one fucked up country you got there. It sickens me.

Want to defend yourself? Sorry. Oh, and by the way, we'll give you more prison time than a rapist. That is the definition of asinine. You live in a terrible and stupid country.

The need to get the last word is a sure sign of deep insecurity about one's position.
I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.

Waffle House Armed Robber Gets the Surprise of a Lifetime When Customer Decides to Fight Back With a Gun
Jul. 30, 2013 8:58am Jonathon M. Seidl

An Atlanta crook picked the wrong Waffle House to target early Monday morning. That’s because when the bandana and hoodie-wearing bandit walked into the restaurant and pointed a gun at patrons, one of them reached for his gun and fired back.

Police say the suspect entered the Waffle House in south Fulton County just before 2 am, brandishing a pistol and demanding money.

“Nobody move and open the cash register,” the suspect, 20-year-old Ashton Macafee, allegedly said according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC).

What he didn’t know was that seated together at a booth were off-duty Atlanta police officer Jonathan Sutton and his friend, off-duty security guard Evans Chad Pollard.

Officer Sutton (L) and Pollard, friends who thwarted a Waffle House armed robbery by opening fire on the suspect.

According to the AJC, Sutton was not able to reach for his weapon. Pollard, however, was — he fired off two shots, hitting Macafee.

“I felt that not only my life, but everyone’s life was in danger, so I had to do what I had to do,” Pollard told the paper.

“Everybody was scared and when I eliminated the threat, everyone felt calm,” he added. “He came in and I did what I could.”

He also offered extended comments to WSB-TV, telling the station about the moment he decided to pull the trigger.

“As soon as he pointed [the gun] at us I’m like, I thought I was going to die right there,” he said, telling the station he opened fire from about 5 feet away:

Sutton and Pollard — who told WSB he used to be a firefighter — held Macafee at bay until officers arrived. Macafee was then transported to a local hospital where his condition is unknown.

So far, there are no reports Pollard will face any charges for defending against the attack.

Armed Husband Dishes Out ‘Lethal Dose of Texas Justice’ After Suspects Kidnap Him and His Wife, Then Force Them to Rob Bank
Aug. 5, 2013 4:15pm Erica Ritz

A pair of suspected criminals got what the Huffington Post described as a “lethal dose of Texas justice” last week after allegedly kidnapping a couple and then forcing them to rob a bank.

Investigators are not releasing the names of the couple, but believe the suspects knew the wife worked at First National Bank of Eagle Lake in Columbus, Texas, or they would’ve have staked out the couple’s home and forced her to withdraw an undisclosed amount of money from the bank after-hours.

(Photo: KHOU-TV)

After the robbery, police say the suspects — identified as 20-year-old Jordan Kutach and 21-year-old Preston Kutach — forced the husband to drive the group in his truck down Highway 71.

However, they were presumably unaware that the husband had a firearm in his car. After surreptitiously accessing it, the husband shot both suspects, seriously wounding one and killing the other.

Residents say the husband is a reserve officer with the sheriff’s department, and that the community supports him and his wife throughout this difficult time, KHOU-TV reports.

“I’m sure that they’re both going to be upset for awhile,” resident Brenda Buehler said. “It’s a frightening thing to have happen, but I think everybody’s going to tell them good job.”

Resident Evan Mullins added: “It’s very positive to a community to hear that the good guy does win in the end.”
And the hoplophobes and anti-gun nuts have just given up and run away in shame because they know they can't debunk any of this data.

That's just newspaperspeak. They always temporize so they don't get sued for defamation of character by the relatives until the police report is finalized. Doesn't mean a thing really in this context, although it could be that the shooter is lying through his teeth and this is a setup by he and his wife. That's always a possibility.
