Slow-acting poison. Likely administered via a poisoned chalice in which you served a rare vintage at a superb meal which you prepared personally.

Because I've known you so long.

Statistics, that's all that matters.

Bow owners rarely kill, if only because their weapons are rather hard to conceal...

He rambles a bit, but he is knowedgable and humble and very unlike what anti-gunners think a gun nut is.
Whew. He does need to work on conciseness and organize his ideas a bit more. He has some very strong arguments, but not many people are going to be willing to 33 minutes of rambling statements. Anyway, I wonder how many people can listen to him and still use the term "gun nut" to describe anyone who owns guns. Towards the end, where he was apologizing for getting "worked up about it," he was still more mild-mannered than the majority of anti-gun people who have posted rants about "gun nuts."

Gun nuts are a sub-set of gun owners, and the murderous ones are a smaller sub-set still.

I reserve the designation of "gun-nuts" for gun owners who demand, in utter selfishness, that their right to own weapons completely trumps any right of society to control/regulate gun ownership to reduce the number of deaths they cause...

True, Jim. Gun nuts do exist. I know a few in the US. Similarly, far from all anti-gun people to nuts about it. But there is an anti-gun-nut minority and they're not helping the dialog by labeling all gun owners as gun nuts, any more than real gun nuts when they throw derogatory labels at people who want tighter gun control laws.

Gun nut is a bigoted term. People use it who don't understand. It's unknown. It's common for humans to fear and demonize what they do not understand.

No different than anti-gay or racist terms, except those have become socially unacceptable.

And I think gun "culture" is profoundly sick.

Of course people immersed in it don't think it's sick. Why would they? Members of NAMBLA don't think they're sick either.
Fortunately, your opinion is meaningless and we have the opinions of the Founders and millions of people since that time who have preserved, protected and defended the RKBA who believe that hoplophobes are the sick one, not gun owners.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but there are a lot more of us than there are of you, so your opinion is nothing more than something for gun owners to sadly shake their heads at and wonder about hoplophobe sanity.

86% of Americans support background checks. Your cowardly representives in government fear the NRA more than respect the wishes of their public.

Some democracy. Fear wins the day.

Nowhere in that article does it tell us the exact questions asked, how many respondents were polled, how they were chosen, and how the survey was conducted.

This is getting tiresome, I feel like I'm talking to retarded kindergardners.
#1. The US is not a democracy.
#2. Internet sales happen this way--purchases made have to be transfered through an FFL holder--that means the firearm is shipped to the FFL holders place of business. They do not ship from seller direct to purchaser unless the purchaser is an FFL holder. If by transfer, the FFL holder then follows through with both the 4473 (a written document kept on file by the FFL holder for 20 years) and the phone-in NICS [FBI] background check. The transfer does not go through if the check comes back as a no.

There already is an established process of background check for gun sales and the majority of sales submit to that check. The 4473 has been being used since 1968 as required by the Gun Control Act of that year. The NICS has been being used since 1993 as required by the Brady Act.

Mr Paul Steinhauser is either abashedly ignorant of what he speaks or is deliberately misrepresenting the truth.

This bullshit, that there are no background checks at gun shows or for internet sales, IS A COMPLETE LIE.

Who here has actually bought a gun at a gun show or online? Because I have, both ways, and both ways, I have always had a background check done.

So, when these idiot pollsters ask the question, "Do you think there should be background checks at gun shows and for Internet sales... IT'S A LIE.

THERE ARE ALREADY BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR BOTH THOSE THINGS!

HELLO! WAKE UP! THAT POLL IS WORTHLESS. The pollsters, nor do the respondents, have any fucking clue what the reality of the situation actually is.

It's pathetic.

Why don't they just ask, "Do you think it should be against the law to commit murder?" I bet they'd get around 85-90% for that too.
