A lot of those old Colt revolvers are pretty darn pretty too.
For a .45 I'd go with a 1911. A custom made one (or custom kit) in my fantasy world where I'm flush with cash.

I guess it might seem kinda odd and nerdy that it would be important to me that the fictional gun in a story song be plausible, but that's how it is.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
