It's a actually a sprawling megalopolis with horrendous 24/7 traffic.

Has some nice enclaves....getting between them is the issue.

Try asking a travel agent or google.

I thought the wine was better up north :ask:

Some are but not all.
It depends on your itinerary, the drive to go north to taste wine is a long one, much farther than south towards Irvine and San Diego. If you go north might as well stop in San Francisco. There are things to do there too. You can take the Pacific Coast Highway all the way.

If you are friendly to the homeless people they will see you as an easy mark and won't leave you alone. Some can get....assertive.

We fly in , so no time to go to 'Frisco.
Just a day or two spare. What would you say is the best wine estate in direction San Diego?

Homeless people are scared of Africans. They think we might eat them.

Yes, I remember how surprised I was to find out "missionary position" involved a large cooking pot.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Boiled missionary is very crude, in culinary terms... :nono:

Quite. Boiling is done only with the very tough ones.

Potjie is an excellent way to make a slow-cooked stew. Ragout of Rector, with Carmelite carpaccio starter.
