Absolutely. Gangbangers ain't what they used to be. I blame holding the gun sideways with arm fully extended while yelling "I cap yo ass mothafucka". We clearly need NRA sanctioned, inner-city firearm training courses. Shooter's stance isn't pansy-ass, no matter what you're told by your homeys.

Yes, we need exactly that but only for law-abiding citizens who will soon be armed...after more than a hundred years of victimization by the Chicago political machine.

I'd deploy the National Guard to hold basic weapons safety, marksmanship and small-unit tactics classes for every neighborhood, free of charge. I'd mandate that NRA gun safety and marksmanship programs be given in public schools to those without criminal records.

And then I'd have the Civilian Marksmanship Program donate a couple of million surplus military rifles to the law-abiding residents of Chicago, followed by armed civilian patrols of neighborhoods guided and assisted by National Guard troops.

The gang problem would go away very quickly after that.

Yup. Cities like Chicago, Detroit, LA etc. have violent crime rates high enough to skew the national numbers all out of proportion. They really ought to have two categories: Metropolitan Violent Crime and Non-Metropolitan Violent Crime.

The former would be highest in those metropolitan areas where guns are "banned" (to the law abiding only) and lowest everywhere else.

The obvious solution is to aggressively target urban criminals and gang members by activating the Unorganized Militia and using it to suppress criminal activity.

Stay in the well-known tourist areas and if you're driving know the fuck where you're going because taking a wrong turn in Chicago can easily end your life. State legislators in Illinois are calling for the National Guard and State Police to move into Chicago to put a stop to the violence. More than 50 people shot and more than a dozen killed over 4th of July.

Personally, I won't get within a hundred miles of the place. Maybe 200 miles. Unless I'm driving a Ferret or something.

Fuck me, Nairobi isn't that bad and the gangs there sometimes drive around all night shooting machine guns at each other.

I didn't say it wasn't enforced on either side of a lot of lines. Black guys attacking whites for being in the wrong neighborhood were part of what I was talking about then I said "neighborhood patrolmen".

Of course it worked out better for the people living where more jobs happened to be.
