People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Depends on what turns your crank by way of entertainment. Theme parks, live music venues, many museums, Griffith Park with the zoo, the beaches (have a linked bike path), Venice, Malibu etc, fishing, China Town. Drive south and do a wine tasting tour.

Try asking a travel agent or google.

Like Gallstones said, it depends on who you are. What do you like? How much do you want to spend? How long do you have? Are you going to have a car or rely on public transport?

I'm happy to give recommendations but there's too much to see/do and generic info will end up wrong for lots of people.

Plenty nice restaurants, some nice museums, some excellent bookshops, if they have survived since the 90s... oh, and disneyland, of course.

Hmmm ... Louis Theroux did a series about LA recently. It didn't exactly endear me to the place, but then Louis never was one to show the good side of anything.

It a massive city, so if you like massive cities it will be great. I fucking hate cities, so I'd rather perform my own hemorrhoidectomy with corn tongs and a hacksaw than spend any time in one.

But it's not a massive city at all

It's a large county with all sorts of cities, beaches and neighborhoods which are pretty widely spread out. The actual city of Los Angeles (which was the last place I lived before moving here) is really small.
