Re: Busdriver Loses Job for Killing Snowman

I heard that during the miner's strike, a police van was deliberately driven into a snowman which the picketing miners had built.

The miners had built the snowman around a concrete bollard... :funny:

Re: LOL @ RatSkep

Hello, you all probably don't know me  I registered here after the RDF meltdown but drifted over to RatSkep primarily because the blue theme and selection of subforums made it a close substitute for RDF. I lurk a lot but don't have a massive post count over there, I've never received so muc...

No, it's a miracle!

Baby Jesus must have saved that child :awesome:

But was strangely powerless to stop the devil chucking the child out of the window just seconds before. Boo, devil ;ob;

Re: Should the State fund the arts?

We can have the arts without having to subsidise it, you realise. In fact, it's a lot of the actual artists who don't get subsidised. My cousin is a jeweller and her company has never been helped out by the government, very few are. This. SWMBO plays in our provincial backwater town's 'symphony orc...

Re: Your public services (U.K.)

Petty crimes are what people are more concerned about however, since they are common and affect the average person. The heinousness of infrequent crime is of less concern than the frequency of petty crime. The likelihood of being murdered is not correlated to the economic climate, whereas the likeli...

Re: What would you cut?

All grants, charitable statuses, and subsidies to religious organisations and establishments (including schools - we pay for them anyway, so run them for the whole community and stop religious fuckwits wasting classroom time on prayers), legalise and tax cannabis and MDMA for starters, Trident.

Ouch! Yes fair play to the bull. You'd have to be a pretty shit bullfighter to have this happen to you, I imagine. Maybe he was texting at the time, or something.

Well, "a woman's work is never done" - so surely it's only right that they get paid less?

Re: British folk across the pond, question for you:

Since the special relationship consisted largely of us bending over and grabbing our ankles, I'm rather pleased if the cooling of relations means this will no longer happen as much. Maybe we'll get to rip up the entirely one-sided extradition treaty too. I'm interested - as I noted above, I had no ...

I noticed this too. Went out with a pair of binoculars last night and knowing there were no planes in the sky managed to identify what could only have been numerous satellites in low Earth orbit

Makes me fair want to get into astronomy, it does.

Re: Get ready folks in the U.S - $4.00 a gallon gas by summe

Well my CV joint disintegrated yesterday. I guess I don't have to worry about petrol anymore. Buying a bike when my next student loan payment comes in. It'll come in handy next year anyways, as I'm only a short ride from my university  Sounds like an excerpt from my biography. Chicks dig bikes...
