Re: Hello - Ratz Online Reunion Weekend 22nd September
I tried to learn Irish Gaelic from a library book when I was about 12. I can still say that the box is full. Nothing else though. I haven't had many opportunities to use it, so it's just as well I stopped there. Oh, and I know ambulance in Welsh. Ambewlans, I think. That's only from following them ...

Re: Hello - Ratz Online Reunion Weekend 22nd September
John, I misse ye . Nice hearing from you. :cheer: By way of explanation, I retired in 2009, and in 2013 I signed up for a year at the local university campus, to learn some Gaelic. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed for four years, and completed a BA degree in Gaelic Language and Culture. I enjoyed...

Re: Hello - Ratz Online Reunion Weekend 22nd September
I can't remember how to start a new fred, so I'll just put this here. I knew joining the Dull Men's Club Group on FB would come in handy. Thanks to a post there, I've just been able very easily to work out that I'm 23,421 days old! You can do it too: http://www.calculator.net/date-calculator.html?to...

Re: Where's Red Celt when you want a laugh!?
The thing is, there's far too much fucking democracy. (I trust you note I'm ignoring the most recent inanities.) OK, democracy is a Good Thing, and in all seriousness it's better than any other political arrangement our species has tried, but that doesn't mean we have to go on having more and more a...

Re: Where's Red Celt when you want a laugh!?
I don't recognise much of what you say, so we can just agree to differ. Your side won the vote, and short of becoming a terrorist there's nothing I can do about that. I have various other ideas, too, about how the world could become better, but you may not agree with them either. (One of them is tha...

Re: Where's Red Celt when you want a laugh!?
Jock's my name, so at last you've posted one thing that's accurate. The figures everybody seems to ignore are: SNP membersip: c70,000; Yes votes: c.1,600,000. It suited the UK media and their bosses the No camp to characterise the Yes campaign as "the SNP" and to demonise Salmond. To have been taken...

I haven't got much time now:
Just a little bit.
But I felt I had to comment
That the poem above is shit.

Re: Where's Red Celt when you want a laugh!?
I had to endure h a commercial for Netflix with Ricky Gervais before I could watch that. :what: Sorry. Above all, I'm sorry that we live in a capitalist world. Bought and sold again. But the words, written more than 200 years ago, could have been written to apply to the BBC, couldn't they? Or any o...
