Ohh like the narrator on Patrick O'Brians Aubrey Maturin series...that's 21 books so it's my fall back. I learned a lot about the British Navy and politics of the era on a British Empire scale. Ed Yong’s “An Immense World” is very good, at least on ink-stained tree slices. Don’t know about the audio book.
