Re: Gunman Shooting at Dark Knight Rises Screening.
It's a bit of a failure of security. One man on that door would've put an end to it. You don't think, by any chance, that he would have found some other method? A man on every fire-exit in the US is your solution? It wouldn't stop me. You do not need someone at every door. The vast majority of emer...

Me either, I generally support CCW in the vast majority of situations.Animavore wrote:In this instance I'd say so. I'm sure there are many instances where they would help though. I'm not against CCW in case I came across that way.

Re: Gunman Shooting at Dark Knight Rises Screening.
This would be the more than likely scenario with a theater filled with CCW's.mistermack wrote:I wish there was a dozen people with guns.

Re: Gunman Shooting at Dark Knight Rises Screening.
Gas, smoke, chaos. Man in tactical gear shooting a AR-15 equipped with a 100 round drum...if only a CCW was there. I'm sorry that just is not rational or logical at all. The CCW would more than likely have caused more trouble.

Re: First reaction by Richard Dawkins.
We have never discussed this new forum in any way. I doubt that he's concerned at all about it -- he is not the internet monitor. If he isn't concerned about it then why did he cite it in his public post about the issue? It seems the individuals here have shown proper citation that the quote mining...

Re: First reaction by Richard Dawkins.
I'm a "celebrity" now? Heh. I'm a guy with a blog, with absolutely zero influence over Josh, and no obligations in return. Although I am a little miffed. I've seen the traffic numbers on RD.net from Google Analytics, and it gets about 1/2 to 2/3 of the traffic of Pharyngula (and sorry to inform you...

Re: First reaction by Richard Dawkins.
I wrote in an RDF thread about two weeks ago: "Is it me or has the quality of this forum just gone down hill?....Everyday this forum begins to mimic more and more the behavior of the most revolting fundie theist." It seems that Dawkins realized this as well, and decided to clean house, and fuck som...
